About the Franklin County Humane Society
The mission of Franklin County Humane Society is to care for our area’s homeless animals, to re-home as many animals as possible, and to improve animal welfare throughout our community. As an open-admission shelter, we accept all cats and dogs in need. We are an independent 501c3 organization, and we are contracted by the City of Frankfort and the Franklin County Fiscal Court for animal control services.
We have wonderful dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens available for adoption. We accept animals surrendered by citizens at no charge, and we care for lost, stray, and homeless animals. We offer low-cost spay and neuter services to the public. We also offer microchipping and city licensing. We work to educate the public about animal welfare. We frequently hold community events such as portable adoptions and fundraisers.
About the New Shelter

We will build a shelter the community of Frankfort and Franklin County will be proud of, and that will enhance the lives of our companion animals for the next half-century!
We will meet this challenge with your contribution now. Your exciting new facility will feature a medical care clinic meeting community needs for low-cost spay/neuter, community cat trap, neuter and return (TNR), and assistance for owners in retaining their pets. See details below for exciting design features in this safe, welcoming community animal center.
